Diabetes is a chronic condition marked by high levels of glucose (sugar) in the blood cause by an inability to produce insulin (a hormone made by the pancreas to control blood glucose levels) or use it effectively or both. (2)

The main types of diabetes include type 1 diabetes, type 2 diabetes, gestational diabetes, and other diabetes. (2)

Diabetes can affect the whole body, while there is currently no cure people can still live a full and enjoyable life whilst managing effectively. (1)
